Yes, the prequel's Meemaw is a savage. And we like it.

The Big Bang Theory clearly established Mary Cooper's mother, aka Meemaw, as Sheldon's favorite living family member. And in Young Sheldon, we clearly see why, even though the prequel drastically changed the character.

We know Meemaw as a sweet, loving and protective grandmother (not so loving to others, though...), but in Young Sheldon, where me meet her much younger version, she is completely different.

Running her own casino and not being shy with words, she is the "comedy gold" of the show, being the baddie grandma that everyone would probably like to have.

However, it's not like every single Big Bang Theory fan is willing to agree.

The fact that Young Sheldon basically retconned Meemaw has caught many people off-guard, with some fans still not ready to accept that she's the same Meemaw we loved in the original show.

Still, many people believe that Young Sheldon did a great job with tweaking Meemaw's character.

"She's got the kind side (the one that dotes on Sheldon but doesn't overlook Missy or Georgie) and the harsher one that trades verbal barbs with George," Redditor mabbz noted.

Moreover, some fans argue that it was The Big Bang Theory that failed to live up to the expectations, as she "didn't fit at all with what we had heard about her."

In fact, the Big Bang version of Meemaw is considered by many to be one of the most hated characters in the universe, while Young Sheldon's take on the character is almost universally loved.

Currently in its sixth season, Young Sheldon is rumored to be coming to an end soon, as Sheldon is approaching the age at which George died in the original series.

Fans are still in the dark as to whether the prequel will delve into what may be its darkest storyline yet.
