Young Sheldon Spinoff Creators Know Exactly When Fan-Favorite Characters Will Be Back
Georgie’s adult life without his family’s intervention won’t last that long.
Young Sheldon ’s spinoff is still several months away from hitting the screens this fall, but fans just got another reason to wait for its premiere.
Titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the future show will explore Georgie’s relationships with his wife Mandy soon after they got married, as well as all the ups and downs of their life together while raising their daughter CeeCee.
Despite the spinoff’s aim to focus primarily on Georgie and Mandy, the couple will have no chance to avoid their relatives’ attention anyway, and it seems like it won’t take too much time for Georgie’s side to make an entrance.
Ahead of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s release, the show’s executive producer Steve Molaro revealed that the beloved Cooper family, now consisting of Meemaw, Mary and Missy, would be back to the story sooner than everyone thought.
According to Molaro, “Zoe and Annie are in the first episode, and Raegan will be in the second episodeб” meaning that the pilot episode will feature Mary and Meemaw while episode 2 will also bring Missy back.
Apart from that, Iain Armitage’s return as Sheldon is also expected, but not confirmed yet, with the spinoff’s creators counting on a possibility for the character to come back home for a special occasion like Thanksgiving or Christmas.
Though the whole uncertainty remains here for a while, there seems to be no real problem for both sides in this case, since the actor is more than eager to reprise his quirky role. As Armitage revealed a couple of months earlier, he’d get to the set immediately once he received a call from Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s creators.
The actor then added that he wouldn’t mind just watching it at home as he’s “just excited to get to sit back on my couch with some popcorn and watch their show because they’re so good. But I could totally see myself getting in the khakis again, putting on the old penny loafers and bow tie, and going back out on the job.”
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s premiere episode will be dropped on CBS on October 17.
