Sheldon Cooper’s role fairly brought a real fortune to both actors’ piggy banks, but the rest of the cast’s salaries are way more different than anyone ever expected.

Launched back in 2007, The Big Bang Theory was most likely never meant to be transformed into an immensely successful franchise that will go far beyond a single sitcom, but more than 15 years later it seems its story is far from being over.

The original show, followed by no less stunning prequel Young Sheldon, brought its cast to an incredibly high level of worldwide fame, making Sheldon Cooper’s actors Jim Parsons and Iain Armitage ones of the wealthiest actors of their generations.

However, even with a completely different take on a well-known story, the franchise still followed its controversial tradition of an unusually wide range of salaries, and the differences in those numbers are just mind-blowing.

It would surely be fair to suggest that both Jim Parsons and Iain Armitage as the undoubted leads of both shows’ casts would play at much higher stakes, but the supporting actors reportedly earned much less compared to their co-stars, even though they were still pretty frequent on the screens.

A famous yet still unconfirmed rumor has it that by the time The Big Bang Theory gained wide recognition across the world, Jim Parsons had an established pay check reward per episode of no less than $1 million, and, surprisingly, Iain Armitage might have followed the suit.

During the prequel’s first several seasons, the young actor’s salary reportedly reached at most $300,000 per episode, and since the show later turned out to be one of CBS’ best-rated projects, Armitage’s paycheck started mentioning much bigger numbers than the initial $30,000 in season 1, possibly jumping to $50,000 and later on even more.

The actor’s real salary is still a big mystery to Young Sheldon fans, with some claiming that the couple of last seasons might have brought Armitage $1 million per episode, just like it was with Jim Parsons during The Big Bang Theory, but there’s still no proof for that.

Disheartening enough, the rest of the lead cast’s earnings go in contrast with Armitage’s fortune.

The numbers have never been confirmed, but some reports suggested that Mary and George Coopers’ actors Zoe Perry and Lance Barber earned at least $30,000 per episode, Annie Potts got herself $20,000 per episode while Montana Jordan and Raegan Revord, who portrayed Georgie and Missy Cooper respectively, reportedly made at least $10,000 per episode both.

This comes as a sort of déjà vu for those who were previously shocked by the way The Big Bang Theory cast was awarded, with Jim Parsons making at least $1 million off one episode and other lead characters like Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik getting less than half that amount per episode.
