Young Sheldon's Unlikeliest Character Sets Up TBBT's Most Painful Twist
One phrase to describe Young Sheldon's latest season? "Waiting for the inevitable."
Young Sheldon is a successful spin-off prequel of the Big Bang Theory that fans grew really fond of. The original show, however, sets certain restrictions for the prequel to develop its plotlines.
So, from the very beginning of the series, the fans have been waiting with bated breath for a certain moment to happen. Secretly hoping it never will…
Yes, we are talking about the most heartbreaking twist of the show – George's cheating. And even though it hasn't happened yet, the groundwork has been laid by someone in particular.
Surprisingly, it was Paige Swanson who set up that story in season 6 episode 16 of Young Sheldon. As we know, she is now in her rebellious phase.
Despite the fact that she mostly interacts with Sheldon and Missy, she happens to be the one who started the chain of actions that will lead to the moment nobody wants to see.
During the road trip with Missy, Paige eventually says something that ties in with Sheldon's story about his father that he told on The Big Bang Theory.
In the episode titled Stolen Truck and Going on a Lam, the girls discuss where they can go on their trip. So the list of places came up, but then Paige suddenly mentioned that spring break is coming, and it's a great time to visit Florida.
And there is the moment when all fans gasp, remembering that the adult Sheldon told his friends that the cheating incident actually happened when he unexpectedly came home from college during that time and caught his dad with another woman.
So, no escape, huh? It seems that George's cheating timeline is already set.
However, the show's executive producer Steve Holland has already confirmed that this scandal won't happen in season 6.
So there's still some time for fans to prepare for the emotional rollercoaster.
