Getting to know your sibling sure takes time, but it should have been easier for many reasons.

Young Sheldon 's writers have spent a lot of time developing their characters to the point where there is no doubt that they are nothing less than superior individuals.

But sometimes it's only human to fall short in some decision making or major life event.

One example is Missy and her relationship with Sheldon. The big fight took place at the end of season 6. But in hindsight, it could have been avoided if Missy had learned a bit more about her brother in earlier years.

The thing is, Sheldon almost commits a crime against Missy in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale. But in fact, this kind of behavior is not at all surprising, as it was explained in the show four years ago.

Missy entered her rebellious phase when she and Paige stole George's truck and tried to run away. Although she has been disciplined for her behavior before, she doesn't seem to have learned her lesson.

The introduction of Pastor Jeff's niece, Tonya, has somehow increased her rebellious nature.

They used to sneak out together at night, and Missy got away with it for a long time, until Sheldon caught her one day and betrayed her in the season 6 finale. That was the reason they had that big fight in the episode in the first place.

But Sheldon revealing someone's secret is actually old news. It has happened before on the show in season 2, when he has been asked by his dad to keep something to himself, but Sheldon has never succeeded.

Though fans remember how hard he tried.

So when Missy tried to convince her brother to keep his mouth shut, we already knew that was not going to happen and that he was going to spill the beans somehow. He just can't keep a secret, and that's beyond him. He can't lie long-term.

Actually, this theory is also supported by The Big Bang Theory. Every true fan remembers at least episode 20 of season 3, The Spaghetti Catalyst, where Sheldon once again proved that he's just not made for lying.

He made a pathetic attempt to sneak out of his apartment to meet Penny and have dinner with her after her breakup with Leonard.
