Young Sheldon's End Might Be Just A Heartbreak Away
Prepare the waterfalls. The Young Sheldon family drama that has been expected since when The Big Bang Theory was still on air, is about to get real.
And not only that – the very end of Big Bang prequel might be close.

The Big Bang Theory lore tells us that Sheldon had to endure some hard family times when he was a teenager. Namely, his father's affair and his dad passing away.
Said things happened when Sheldon was 13-14 years old. In the currently running Young Sheldon season 6, the title character (magnificently portrayed by Iain Armitage) is 13 which means we're getting close to the heartbreaking events.
The prequel's most recent episodes have established the clear path to this inevitable drama.
Although, as TVline reports we might not get to see it unfold just yet – most probably those events will see the light of day in the upcoming seventh season.
As we saw already how Sheldon's parent's marriage starts to implode, it's obvious the heartbreaking end is near, whether TBBT fans are ready or not.
The only issue being whether the events will be shown as older Sheldon recalls them in the core series, or will we see a somewhat alternative version. After all, before we only knew the perspective from Sheldon's point of view.
And now we tap on the real-life issues that might affect the prequel series and probably bring on its ending. Season 7 will mark the end of a three-season renewal of the series.
Apparently, there are insiders' talks about the series possibility not to move forward past season 7. Young Sheldon is currently the most watched TV comedy, but renewal for season 8 and beyond is yet to be announced by CBS.
There's also an issue of a very probable writer's strike, akin to that of the 2007-08 TV season. Hardcore TV shows fans will remember how Writers Guild's of America strike back then stopped productions of many series and caused shorter seasons.
If that happens again, the show better have a contingency plan. And bidding farewell to Sheldon as he goes off to college at the age of 14 after his father's death might be a logical, albeit bittersweet, way to do so.
Young Sheldon's season 6 will resume after a short break on Thursday, March 30.
