Is this another case of Reddit giving women a harder time?

Since the show started exploring the most devastating storyline of Mary and George Copper's split, it looks like there is more and more discussion surrounding it.

Marriage separation is always hard, especially when influenced by addictions, however, people always tend to pick their sides, and Young Sheldon fans are not any different.

Many fans stand their ground on choosing George over Mary. They don't feel any love in her towards Georgie and Missy, and even her love for Sheldon is often questioned by the fans.

Some think she loves him only for being book-smart, as this is the only kind of smart she believes in. Her attitude towards George is even more questionable since fans see clear signs of abuse from her.

Of course, it's because of Mary George sacrificed a great coaching job in season 2, which bugs many viewers to this day.

But there are still some fans out there who actually understand the depth behind Mary's character, and even find her struggles relatable.

They argue that all the issues she has with her husband and kids are coming from difficulties with raising Sheldon, who definitely requires special care.

There were plenty of times when she showed her love to other kids. Mary was there for Missy and her struggles with baseball, she was always supportive of her playing, and even was willing to make a statue out of Barbie dolls for her.

She's also found peace with George Jr dropping out of school and supported Mandy and their child.

"I think what you see here is Reddit is the norm, Reddit is always tougher on the women and lets many failures from men slide or get excused.

Which I'm sure is directly correlated with their demographics. 62% male, 38% female," Redditor MerryBandOfPirates said, later suggesting that it's just much harder for Reddit audience to relate to a special needs kid mother.

There is still a chance for Mary to redeem herself in the eyes of the audience, as season 6 of Young Sheldon continues to air.

Tune in on Thursdays on CBS to see how the story of Cooper's marriage unfolds.
