Young Sheldon Is Coming Back, but Not in a Way You Think
Sheldon himself is very unlikely to pop up, yet it’s still what fans really wanted all along.
It’s been a while since Young Sheldon aired its definite finale back in May, and fans have been sad about the show’s untimely ending ever since.
Now that there’s no way for The Big Bang Theory ’s prequel to come back and only its spinoff titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage can make some things right, it seems like the fans’ prayers have been in fact heard since Young Sheldon’s storyline isn’t going anywhere — in a way.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is still being developed, but some details and one of the creators’ recent revelations suggest that viewers may expect some of the beloved characters to return to the story.
Following Georgie and Mandy ’s married life with its own ups and downs, the show will find its characters nearly a month after George Sr.’s passing and Sheldon’s departure for CalTech.
Considering that older Georgie in The Big Bang Theory once stated that Sheldon wasn’t visiting his family in Texas that much after having settled in California, his appearance isn’t a real option here, yet the rest of the family may indeed show up every so often.
Those who have been worrying about Young Sheldon’s mistreatment towards some of Sheldon’s family members can now have a good sleep at night as Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s executive producer Steve Holland revealed that the Coopers will certainly be back to the screen.
According to Holland, their return was in fact inevitable since “we love these actors and we love these characters, and they're certainly a part [of] Georgie and Mandy's life, so it's our hope that this is a spot where they can pop up from time to time and we can still tell their stories.”
Apart from the Coopers, Mandy's parents Jim, portrayed by Will Sasso, and Audrey, played by Rachel Bay Jones, are also confirmed to be returning to help their daughter and son-in-law deal with all the struggles of married life.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is set to arrive on CBS sometime later this year.
