Young Sheldon Ignored an Essential Detail About Sheldon For No Reason
Fans are baffled by this detail being completely ignored by the creators of Young Sheldon.
Young Sheldon is currently on its sixth season and fans found out that one thing about Sheldon wasn't mentioned throughout the story of his younger self.
The Big Bag Theory played a big role in promoting and mainstreaming geek culture. If you are a Big Bag Theory die-hard, you should know there are tons of Star Wars references in the show.
It's clear that the main characters love the saga, including Leonard, Raj, Howard and, of course, Sheldon.
However, a fan shared their observation on Reddit that Sheldon's love for Star Wars movies hardly gets brought up in Young Sheldon.
Instead, we see Sheldon being fond of Star Trek in the show, and Star Wars isn't mentioned at all.
However, we can assume that Sheldon hasn't watched Star Wars yet, and maybe we will still see this saga making an appearance in his life.
Or, what's more likely, is that the creators just missed this detail or considered the Star Wars affection to be insignificant to add in the show.
It's a shame given how many Star Wars references we've seen in TBBT. Do you remember that hilarious scene in the first episode of season 3 where Sheldon tries to choke his friends with the Force in a Darth Vader style?
And Raj pretending like Sheldon's chokehold is actually working made this scene even more hilarious.
Another example of Sheldon going all Sith mode was when he realized he had to work with Kripke, so he cranked up his angry tunes – the Imperial March song. Classic Sheldon, right?
So, such references and small details are exactly what would make a stronger bridge between Young Sheldon and its predecessor.
Maybe the lack of such small but connecting components is what made some viewers think of Young Sheldon as a separate project, a good one though.
If the rumors are true, we may see Young Sheldon for the last time in season 7 but another TBBT spin-off was reported to be in the works.
So, let's wish Young Sheldon to end on a good note and let's hope the new spin-off will have more references to the cult classics we all love.
