That one time when a joke was made not to get some laughs.

Young Sheldon has already proven that the general approach of this series is completely different from the original show.

The Big Bang Theory has its dramatic moments too, but it was mostly light and harmless, full of funny scenes and moments.

Since season 6 of Young Sheldon began, there has been even more drama than before, and the change between the two shows has become so obvious that it can't be ignored.

For example, let's recall some of the more serious storylines of the season, such as Mandy's pregnancy and George Sr.'s affair.

Another storyline we should add is Missy and Paige's joyride, which actually turned the show into a more dramatic one, with even some dark moments.

It seems that this story could have gone much worse, and Young Sheldon hinted at it from the start with a gag.

When Missy jumps into her father's trunk and drives away from home in the middle of the night, it feels like something bad is about to happen. Fortunately, she manages to skip all the bad things that could happen to her.

But there was one joke made during Missy and Page's road trip that actually had a darker meaning than it seemed at first, and definitely implied that Young Sheldon knew how dark this story could have gone.

When the girls drove across America without any adult supervision, they said they felt like the main characters in Thelma and Louise. Let's get something straight here.

Thelma and Louise are probably the most iconic female rebels on television. And maybe they thought that the reference was great, since those two are also in their rebellion phase.

But they must have forgotten (or just didn't know) that in that show, Thelma is almost raped and Louise has all her life savings stolen. And they both die at the end of the show.

So let's hope it was just a coincidence and not the hidden meaning...
