The show’s fans wish they’d been invited to this party.

Young Sheldon ’s story may be getting a big update soon after its spinoff titled Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage finally arrives on the screens, but the prequel’s finale had fans in tears no matter what, and it doesn’t have so much to do with those heartbreaking plot twists.

The show’s last episode aired on CBS back in May, gathering millions of fans across the world around their TVs, with Young Sheldon’s cast among them too, and the latter’s special celebration seemingly shattered everyone’s hearts even more.

It’s important to add here that, by the time of Young Sheldon’s finale release on May 23, everyone still had no clue about what Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage would bring and whether or not the prequel’s characters would be back, so Young Sheldon’s last episode was supposed to be a farewell party for the actors that probably wouldn’t work together ever again.

However, the series’ lead cast had no intention of adding one more example to the list of tearful moments on the last shooting day, so instead they opted for a real party while watching the finale together.

Ahead of Young Sheldon’s last episode airing on CBS, Meemaw’s actress Annie Potts took to her social media posting a heartwarming video of the show’s team gathering at her house to watch the series’ final episode together.

Fans were quick to notice that Iain Armitage and his on-screen brother Montana Jordan weren’t present, but the rest of the main cast did show up in the video, including Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan Revord, Matt Hobby, Mary Grill and many other cast and crew members.

The actress also provided the video with the sweetest caption that says, “The #YoungSheldon family gathered at Meemaw's to watch the finale. Great job, EVERYONE, and THANK YOU to all of you who tuned in.”

Though Iain Armitage couldn’t attend the gathering for some reason, he still reached out to his former co-stars via Potts’ video by leaving a comment that says, “Looks fun, Ms Annie! Love you ❤️.”

Meemaw’s party must have surely brought Young Sheldon’s fans to tears back then, with some of them realizing they would probably never see the Coopers together on screen again and others wishing they’d had such a company to watch the finale with.

Still, things aren’t that bad anymore now that Annie Potts, Zoe Perry and Raegan Revord have been confirmed to be reprising their roles in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, meaning that the Coopers will in fact get together, without George Sr. this time though.

The spinoff is set to premiere on October 17 on CBS.
