Young Sheldon Characters as Deadly Sins (and They Are Weirdly Fitting)
Horoscopes are over! Now we are going biblical with Young Sheldon. Disclaimer: if you are very religious, you might want to skip this article.
A Reddit user had the brilliant idea to assign each member of the Cooper family a deadly sin.
Here is the result.
Lust: Georgie Cooper & Mandy McAllister
Starting with the obvious, Georgie and Mandy represent lust. After all, it was their sexual desire that resulted in Cece, their child born out-of-wedlock (as Pastor Jeff never tires of reminding everyone).
It may have been lust that drew Georgie and Mandy together, but we still love them regardless.
Gluttony: George Cooper
Papa Bear loves to eat his meat and drink his beer, and he isn't ashamed to admit it, which is why gluttony seems to be his signature sin.
George's health suffers from his overindulgence, but that doesn't stop him from living his life to the fullest. That is, until he dies of a heart attack, which is soon to come.
Greed: Connie Tucker
Meemaw loves her grandkids, that's nonnegotiable. What else does she love? Money, of course. Connie doesn't shy away from gambling, preferring to take advantage of any money-making opportunity that comes her way.
The season 6 finale might've hinted that her greed has finally caught up with her.
Wrath: Mary Cooper
Mary may think that she is as righteous as they come, but we know that she's not flawless. She might be patient – dealing with Sheldon will do that to you – but she does let her anger get the best of her from time to time.
Mary often loses her temper, making wrath her Achilles' heel.
Envy: Missy Cooper
Sweet summer child turned rebellious teenager, Missy has had it rough. Her greatest ambition in life has always been to become popular in school (and in life).
She is continuously jealous of Sheldon because the young genius gets all the attention, so envy seems like the perfect sin to represent Missy's faults.
Pride: Sheldon Cooper
Does this even need any explanation? Sheldon is a pretentious, self-absorbed, attention-seeking child who believes that he is always right.
Pride is often the downfall in his endeavors. Funnily enough, this sin is considered the father of all sins, and yet it best fits the most anti-religious character on Young Sheldon.
The Reddit user never provided their take on who represents sloth, but we suspect it is the viewers.
