James Gunn is here again to ruin some hopes of DC fans.

The co-CEO of DC Studios has put to rest the talks about Henry Cavill 's involvement in one specific future DC project. The project in question is an upcoming animated series Creature Commandos.

As fans will remember, Creature Commandos is one in the list of ten first officially announced projects in the Chapter One: Gods And Monsters, the opening part of new Dc Universe.

When asked by a fan about an article that claimed that Henry Cavill would return to DC adaptations in the context of the Creature Commandos series (as none other than Frankenstein ), Gunn claimed that this report was nothing more than plain fake news:

"Completely false. We have our Frankenstein – our first choice – & it's not Henry. Was never discussed with him," stated Gunn firmly in his tweet.

Henry Cavill, who played Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League, was one of the first casualties to befall as new DC vision led by James Gunn was put into motion.

As Gunn has long ago assured that Cavill was not fired by him, this time the director also took it to Twitter to respond to a user who indicated that his comment about the falsehood of the Creature Commandos rumor could be interpreted as a conflict with the actor.

Gunn explicitly debunked this idea. As per his tweet, he has "discussed other roles with Henry – just Frankenstein is not one of them".

There you have it, guys, another potential Cavill's role in DC Universe that we can scrape off the list.

For now there is nothing concrete about a potential new position Gunn has in mind for Cavill (if any), but of course James Gunn still has more Chapters to reveal, and more rumors to deny.
