Writer talks about what he'd like to see in House of the Dragon season 2.

George R.R. Martin, whose work is the basis for the series House of the Dragon, named his favorite episode of the first season of the show, and also specified what scene he would like to see on screen.

Responding to questions from fans of his work, Martin, without much hesitation, singled out the battle between Aemond and Lucerys on their dragons in the season one finale and noted that he would love to "watch the Battle above the Gods Eye."

Out of all the dragon battles depicted in the literary source material, the Battle above the Gods Eye may definitely be the most impressive on screen. The book describes the roar of the dragons as being so loud that it could be heard a dozen miles away, and the dragon flames were so bright that ordinary people feared the whole sky was on fire.

Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait a long time to see this incredible battle in House of the Dragon, as it was one of the climactic events of A Dance with Dragons and probably won't be brought to life until the show's final season.

The final episode of the first season of House of the Dragon, released on October 23, 2022, was one of the most-watched episodes on HBO since the end of the original Game of Thrones show. Despite the success of the show's first season, the second season will come out much later than fans had hoped. The head of HBO Max stated that it would take a lot of time for the writers of the series to create an adequate sequel, so its release, at best, will take place in 2024.
