Taylor Sheridan ’s Yellowstone is largely praised as the biggest and most ambitious running TV show, and for a good reason: even with its time coming to an end, the original series has already spawned two prequels with at least three spin-offs in the works. One of them, however, has always been the most talked-about — the one helmed by Matthew McConaughey, that is.
There have been many speculations about it, but Yellowstone’s Beth Dutton actress Kelly Reilly sincerely asks fans to not get their hopes up too high from the rumors.
Kelly Reilly Slams Spin-Off Speculations
Seeing how the McConaughey-led Yellowstone spin-off has always been surrounded by plentiful rumors, it’s no surprise that many of them are false. One of the latest speculations suggested that Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, and Luke Grimes would reprise their roles as Beth Dutton, Rip Wheeler, and Kayce Dutton, respectively.
The Beth Dutton actress recently spoke out against those rumors, though.
“I just care about finishing [Yellowstone] with as much care and as much passion and as much love as I can muster to put into it. That's what I care about. <...> And what goes on beyond that? There are discussions, you know. Don't believe everything you read. It's just nonsense,” Kelly Reilly told Radio Times.
It’s funny that Reilly would mention those “discussions,” though.
What’s Up with the McConaughey Spin-Off?
Out of all the speculations about the Matthew McConaughey-led spin-off, the one about the original Yellowstone cast members joining it is rather interesting. The thing is, it’s not much of a rumor at all: just weeks ago, Puck confirmed that Reilly, Hauser, and Grimes were indeed in talks with Taylor Sheridan about reprising their roles.
The thing is that the actors are asking for increased salaries, and they were paid pretty handsomely for the final Yellowstone season already. Admittedly, the heftiness of their paychecks is the only obstacle between the three actors and the upcoming spin-off series, so the outcome of those “discussions” Reilly mentioned will likely define the cast and, to a lesser degree, plot of Sheridan’s new TV show.
