The creator of the hit series Yellowstone has been rumored to develop a full-blown God complex, but he has a little something to say about it.

Taylor Sheridan is one of the few people who seemingly had a right to develop God complex: if anything, Sheridan stands behind the creation of one of the most successful shows with two existing spin-offs and six in development that make millions of people land in front of their cable TVs in the age of streaming platforms!

The rumors about Sheridan's attitude were started by an insider a while ago, and based solely on the Yellowstone creator's image, they seem to fit; but he doesn't think those definitions are accurate.

“I wouldn’t think that, no, I don’t… But you can find people — most of them line producers — who would feel that way. What does ‘God complex’ mean? I’m very blunt with every single person — the production staff, the studio, the network," says Sheridan.

The Big Boss of Yellowstone doesn't allow his subordinates to even think that something he needs is impossible — and as a top-tier producer, he knows how to work the financial magic. But for his line producers, this may look like the God complex.

“If I’m parking 20 million people in front of a television, if I’m beating NFL Sunday Night Football routinely, I think the fact I wanted four cameras and worked late into Friday — I don’t think that’s a bad trade. My one rule with line producers and production people is: You don’t get to tell me ‘no,’ you get to tell me how much ‘yes’ costs, and then I decide where to pull that money from," he explains.

It almost sounds like Taylor Sheridan doesn't care about his crew's opinions at all — but he understands it and feels the need to address this issue, too. He does care for their opinions, just not everyone's.

Sheridan admits that he doesn't care about what his line producers or physical production guys think — but he cares a lot about the opinions of the people who work more than he does.

As the Yellowstone boss himself works for 16-18 hours a day, he genuinely respects the crew members that beat him to being the last man home. Unlike him, they also do it for $35 an hour, so Sheridan is always willing to listen to them.

Admittedly, what people are calling Taylor Sheridan's God complex is really his competence and no-BS attitude.

The Yellowstone creator knows exactly what he needs done and how, and he doesn't want excuses from his crew as he's confident he can juggle the budget around just enough to make anything happen without going broke.

"If you want to call that a God complex, great," Sheridan sums up.
