The frustration is just as strong as ever.

Yellowstone season 5 is definitely not going down in history as the show's most successful chapter, as fans are exhausted to watch their favorite series degrading right in front of them.

With episode 8 marking the mid-season finale, the show remains to be a tiring slow-burn that fans are no longer ready to put up with. According to them, the show's creator Taylor Sheridan works "way better" when he has an end in sight — something that does not seem to be the case with Yellowstone.

While some fans scratch their heads over how on Earth will the show fill the rest of the season, there are some suggestions — although they definitely will not be fun to watch.

"Montage, music video montage, rinse, repeat. Then throw in a Beth threat and John Dutton not talking like any actual person would and bingo you have 45 minutes out of an hour filled up," Redditor muscles44 said.

The main problem with Yellowstone, according to fans, is how it "doesn't know when to end things" and prefers to just stuff new episodes of the original show with previews for multiple spinoffs. Fans have blasted the mid-season finale as boring and complained there was no cliffhanger (except for maybe Beth getting to know the big family secret?..). According to the fandom, Yellowstone has simply "ran out of the story" and it shows.

It seems there is no way for Yellowstone season 5 to save itself — unless, of course, Sheridan has some kind of a total surprise up his sleeve. But even if the original show fails, there are plenty of spinoffs for fans to turn to, from prequels 1883 and 1923 to 6666.
