Yellowstone and Game of Thrones Parallel You Didn't Know You Needed
Sometimes these parallels can be really unexpected.
A show about cowboys trying to figure out how to save their ranch, and a series about royal drama, political ploys, medieval sex scandals and violence; who could have thought these two have something in common?
Well, according to Redditor NoVolume7181, there is a certain similarity between Yellowstone 's Rip and Game of Thrones ' Sandor Clegane, who also goes by The Hound.
"Both of them are a product of their environment/circumstances, having experienced extreme violence and abuse as children. But they have not been entirely ruined by it, as perhaps others might be," the Redditor explained.
The fan went on to note that both Rip and The Hound are capable of doing incredibly bad and even savage things, while also having the capacity "of intense love for others, loyalty, and their own sense of justice."
The two characters are both flawed and tragic, and don't always have the full control over their lives. However, when comparing the two, Yellowstone fans are ready to admit that Game of Thrones has sort of outdone Taylor Sheridan this time.
"The difference is that The Hound isn't a static character. He shows growth throughout the series. We dislike him at first, but grow to really like him. By the end of the series he is a fan favorite. Rip has been the same character the whole way through," Redditor Cheap_Tent noted.
However, this is not exclusively Rip's problem as a character. Yellowstone season 5 is currently under fire for being uneventful and boring, with many fans believing that once iconic show has now run out of story and needs to pull the plug after the fifth season.
Despite the mounting criticism, the Yellowstone franchise keeps on adding multiple spinoffs to the family. With season 5 part 2 set to return to screens in summer 2023, there have been no official comments as to whether the season is going to be the final one for the original show.
