The fan-favorite antihero is rumored to return in the upcoming MCU blockbuster, but the actor is still waiting for that phone call from Kevin Feige.

Wyatt Russell made a lot of noise when it was announced that he would be the next Captain America in the Disney+ series 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier', but the whole story quickly died down when he was given a new title at the end of the series – U.S. Agent. Russell still managed to garner quite a few fans, fascinated by his character's sly charisma and dangerous personality. And with the recent news that Marvel Studios is developing a movie about a team of reformed supervillains, U.S. Agent seemed sure to be part of it.

In a conversation with The Playlist Russell described his stance on the project, surprising everyone by saying that he is completely unaware of his character's future.

"When you get the phone call, you get the phone call. And they do a really good job of keeping it from everybody because, you know, they've got something to protect and I always say like, I'd just rather not know. Just don't tell me. I don't need to know. Just tell me when you want me to show up… No, I'm just waiting on it. You wait on it until, like, they announce it. They keep it really, really tight, and it's like, you respect that because they've got other bottom lines to look out for than what they think I need to know," Russel said.

Fans are a bit saddened by this news, but many feel that Russell's lack of knowledge has to do with logistics rather than creative differences, and his character will undoubtedly play an important role in the future of the MCU.

"Once he's signed to a new contract (I am assuming he hasn't yet that's why he said what he said) with MCU he'd be raring to go. I am excited to see him back with the MCU. I thought he gave a very believable performance as a soldier struggling to live up to the Captain America legacy and I think USAgent will be a major character in the future." – /TrueBlue726.
