You would be surprised to know the paychecks did not necessarily get larger with time.

Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland must have gotten used to the constant comparison.

Despite the fact that all three Spider-Man stories were different from each other and unique in their execution, the fan debate around them continues.

Even the reunion in the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home didn't help audiences put aside the tired question of their favorite version of the superhero.

But the longer these disputes go on, the more hype remains around all three franchises. And the more money all three actors can make from the hype, considering royalties.

While some of the three may have earned enough just from their paychecks for the movies, others probably wouldn't mind a little extra cash.

Reportedly, Tobey Maguire was able to get the most out of the role of Spider-Man, taking home $4 million for the first movie and $17 million for the sequel, not counting anything he got from the box office.

His cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home was not as well paid as one might expect, as both he and Andrew Garfield were paid $1 million for their roles.

Speaking of Garfield, his earnings were significantly less than Maguire's. His pay started at $0.5M for the first movie and then doubled with each sequel.

In total, he earned just $3.5 million for all three of his own movies, plus $1 million for his latest Marvel cameo. That's not much compared to his predecessor, but hopefully, the experience was worth more than any check could cover.

If you think there was an injustice in Andrew Garfield's pay, wait until you find out how underpaid Tom Holland was initially.

He first appeared in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and only made about a quarter of a million for the role. Then, just like Garfield, he was paid $0.5 million for his first solo movie.

If you think about the clout and resources that Marvel Studios already had at that point, and the amount of buzz that was already surrounding Spider-Man, this pay seems very unfair.

However, things got much better for Holland with the next two movies and the reported salary increase to $4 million and $10 million respectively.

At the moment, there are a lot of rumors about another MCU sequel to the Spider-Man franchise, but the official information is still very limited. Keep an eye out for news and updates.
