Will Trent Creators Tease Some ‘Challenging Shake-Up’ in Season 3
Another show is coming back with personal drama as a new focus.
Will Trent season 2 officially wrapped it all up a few weeks ago, proving that the next installment won’t be into the titular character’s work details that much anymore. The latest season showed Will Trent dealing with a huge dilemma that possibly ruined his personal happiness, as the character opted for following his moral principles and arresting his love interest Angie Polaski who’d lied about not covering up Crystal’s crime.
Now that their relationship is at stake and Angie may end up behind the prison bars, the show’s creators have once again reassured that the upcoming third season will indeed become some kind of emotional rollercoaster.
Following Will Trent’s season 2 finale, the show’s cast and producers gathered to discuss what the future may hold for the next installment. Angie’s actress Erika Christensen revealed that she’s expecting some big plot twists that will let her character and others “find ourselves in kind of a whole new world.”
She later on specified that so far she has no clue about anything that would take place in Will Trent season 3 and thus is still looking forward to seeing how exactly the writers will handle that big cliffhanger.
Also talking about the second season’s ending, Will Trent producer Liz Heldens admitted that the main idea was to “sort of throw all the pieces in the air and figure out where they’re gonna land. And so I think it’ll be a nice challenging shake-up for us.”
However, the next installment will still bring some kind of personal crisis not only for Will Trent himself, but also for Angie who now will face a lot of consequences of her deed and, according to the show’s executive producer Daniel T. Thomsen, the team is “excited to kind of figure out what it looks like for her as well as he is forced to contemplate a chapter of his life without Angie.”
Will Trent season 3 is set to land on CBS this fall.
