Will Ted Lasso Season 3 Become An 'Underrated Gem' In Several Years?
The backlash over the underwhelming final season may have been a bit overblown.
Ted Lasso, a sports comedy-drama TV series from Jason Sudeikis, who also stars as the titular coach, has just finished its third season, which was also announced to be the last for the show, much to the disappointment of many fans.
To add insult to injury, many viewers felt that the quality of the season was inferior to the previous two, which led to a significant backlash.
But was Ted Lasso Season 3 really as bad as fans say, or will it be hailed as an "underrated gem" in five or ten years?
While some of the most disappointed fans called it absolute garbage, joined by some critics who called it "dreadful television," which created a buzz on social media that made Season 3 look extremely bad, quite a few people consider it decent or even good.
The problem seems to be that when a 10/10 show suddenly drops to 6-8/10, it hits much harder than when an already mediocre show gets even worse.
The last season clearly had a lot of problems, the main one being that it felt like a giant filler episode most of the time, needlessly dragging on and on.
Many fans feel that making the episodes shorter would have instantly cured half of the season's problems.
Of course, there are other things like plotlines that were a bit all over the place and some character personalities that were changed, but it was still a pretty decent season of a comedic series that managed to put smiles on the faces of many fans.
So who knows? Maybe 10 years from now, when the fans calm down, we will see Ted Lasso in various "most underrated TV show of the past decade" or "one of TV's hidden gems" articles, describing it as an overall great show that only experienced a slight downgrade towards the end.
