Will Smith Can Still Get His Oscar Engraved on One Condition
The 2023 Oscars have already blessed us with new drama to talk about, but that does not mean that last year's Slap has been forgotten by anyone.
This year's host Jimmy Kimmel would never let that happen!
In all the hustle and bustle of 2022, actor Will Smith did not get his Oscar engraved because he did not attend the Governor's Ball party after the ceremony, where it is commonly done.
A year later, Smith is not all that bothered by his blank Oscar. At least, he does not seem to be in his viral TikTok where he poked fun at the whole scandal. Isn't it too soon, Will?

After last year's incident, actor Will Smith earned himself a 10-year-long ban from the Academy Awards. Rough, right? Supposedly, that means he can't come to any of the afterparties to get his name engraved either. Or does it?
In the latest episode of the Awards Chatter podcast, Janet Yang, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, shared that the Academy is perfectly fine with Smith reaching out to get his well-deserved nameplate, simply saying, "He earned the Oscar."
Yang added that she did not know "if he should personally come", but that something that would suit all the parties involved could definitely be arranged. Well, that is a relief!
Smith has yet to comment on this latest Oscar-engraving news. Will he swallow up his pride and reach out to the Academy?
Will he choose to wait until the 10-year ban is over and he can proudly walk up there? Will he send his wife Jada to do it for him? So many equally reasonable and valid questions.
Whether we get them answered or not, we just hope that everyone takes something away from the situation in question.
We just want Will Smith to get the engraving for the award he deserves. After all, he did earn his Oscar, all things considered!
