Will Julie Andrews Make An Appearance In ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2? Here’s What Simone Ashley Thinks
‘Bridgerton’ became a sensation earlier in 2020 when it was released, having thousands of fans sticking to the screens and guessing who this Lady Whistledown is.
Perhaps one of the most intriguing things about the upcoming season 2 of ‘Bridgerton ’ is whether or not Julie Andrews, who is the voice behind scandalous columnist Lady Whistledown, makes an appearance.
The season 1 finale revealed that it was Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan), a woman close to the Bridgerton family, who’s been spilling the tea all around London.
Simone Ashley, who will portray Kate Sharma, one of the newest arrivals in London, gave some hints on Lady Whistledown’s future.
“She definitely should make an appearance. Maybe she will, maybe she won’t,” she teased in the interview with Entertainment Online on the red carpet.
Now that the personality of Lady Whistledown is known, it does not mean that Julie Andrews as her voice is gone.
“You don’t just get rid of Julie Andrews,” the show’s creator Chris Van Dusen says. “In her head, [Penelope] hears Julie Andrews’s voice, just like the audience hears Julie Andrews’s voice.”
It seems we will have to wait until March 25 to dive back into the world of Regency-era England and high society.
