Will Chicago Fire Really Kill Off Cindy?
As we are now in Chicago Fire's eleventh season, some drastic changes in characters' plot lines might await the fans this spring.
Namely, the recent dramatic development in Cindy's storyline might open a door to probably the most tear-jerking and divisive twist possible in the current state of affairs.
Just a refresher, Cindy Herrmann (Robyn Coffin) is the wife of one of the principal characters of successful firefighting drama Chicago Fire. Character in question is senior firefighter Christopher Herrmann, played by David Eigenberg.
Their relationship, their family, that also includes 5 mutual children, is part of the very thing that makes fans' hearts beat for the series in the first place.
As we have learned this season, Cindy is battling lung cancer, which has come as a shock to the fans, or, to rephrase it more frankly, a punch in the guts.
The fans just can't help but start wondering whether this might be the end for Robyn Coffin's character, and how this plot twist might affect the series' future at large.
"She has 5 kids and I can't imagine Herrmann grieving her cause that'd actually break my heart," Redditor lkjhggfd1 says.
More and more fans of the show back this notion. People seem to be really "angry about this," and they "don't honestly think [they] can handle another death" in Chicago Fire now.
The whole One Chicago universe (also includes shows Chicago PD, Chicago Med, and already cancelled after just one season Chicago Justice) has a devoted fan following that is really invested in the franchise.
Such thing as Cindy's death on Chicago Fire might just make fans mad and scare them off, which wouldn't probably be the wisest thing to do if your show is in its 11th season. The ratings are good though, for the time being at least.
That being the case, some fans come up with possible non-death-related consequences of the lung cancer storyline:
"I think her sickness is going to serve 3 purposes. 1. Make filming around David's Sex in the City filming schedule easier.
2. Is going to result in Herman realizing he can't be at Molly's every night and lead to him and Mouch selling the bar to Violet/Ritter/Gallo.
3. Make Herman decide he needs to transfer to another role in the CFD and leave 51," Redditor everynameisused100 share their thoughts on the matter.
Whatever the outcome of Cindy's condition on Chicago Fire will be, fans will be watching it extremely closely, for sure, so the showrunners better have a decent plan for the future.
