Fans didn't get enough of Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character.

Fleabag aired on BBC Three and Amazon Video in 2016. The story centered on a young woman living in contemporary London who was coming to terms with her sexuality and relationships.

The plot was based on a one-woman show performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Edinburgh in 2013.

Actress, producer and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge not once claimed that the continuation of the Fleabag series is definitely not something fans should be waiting for. According to her, Fleabag should be sent free as she is exhausted from all she has been through.

Many viewers thought that Fleabag is autobiographical, but in fact, it is far from a portrait of Phoebe, although there is a lot of the personal in the image she created.

And that is probably what the viewers felt – the character turned out to be honest and true.

Phoebe herself doubted that there would even be a second season, let alone a third. The first season was based on the play and took the plot to its logical conclusion: Fleabag confessed her disgusting act and even the only constant companion, the camera, turned away from her.

However, in 2019, the second season was released, and this is a rare case in which the sequel was rated higher than the original: the show has six Emmy awards with eleven nominations, two Golden Globes and a large number of other awards.

Although the series ended on a high note, many fans are confident that at least one more season would not hurt the show.

Fleabag had the viewers so hooked that two seasons simply left them hungry. Fans want to know what happened to the hot Priest and how Fleabag herself dealt with the destruction of her hopes.

Seriously, was that open finale just meant to be this... open?

Viewers agree that the show was so fun and entertaining that they could watch Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character describe the financials of her coffee shop or do other mundane things just to see the story continue.

Considering Phoebe didn't even want to direct the second season in the first place, who knows, maybe one day she'll come up with another brilliant idea that would continue the story of Fleabag on the screen once again.

But so far, Waller-Bridge says she doesn't have any new angle for the fourth wall destruction. So Fleabag season 3 is highly unlikely to ever be a thing.
