Why Daniel Radcliffe Just Can't Watch Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince

It's not uncommon for any person to look back at their past through a critical lens and think about all the things they could have and probably should have done differently, with all the knowledge and experience they have today. Comparisons are never really fair, but they're especially sad when they come from the younger actors.

Those who were forced to enter Hollywood with little to no knowledge, not only of acting, but of how a movie set and the industry as a whole works and what to expect in the future. Kid actors are green and often forced to learn as they go, which doesn't always result in the greatest performances. And when it does, it deserves a round of applause.

Despite having so many child actors, the Harry Potter movies, based on J.K. Rowling's book series, turned out to be quite magical. But not everyone would agree. For example, the star of all the films, Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed Harry Potter himself, still can't appreciate this part of his acting journey.

Speaking to the Daily Mail's Event magazine, Radcliffe was quite candid about the difficulties he has in watching his own early performances:

"It's hard to watch a film like Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince, because I'm just not very good in it. I hate it. My acting is very one note and I can see I got complacent and what I was trying to do just didn't come across," the actor admits.

Fortunately for viewers who aren't professionally trained in acting and don't really know the difference between the techniques actors can use, Daniel Radcliffe doesn't come across as anything but extremely talented in either of the Harry Potter films. Although his own resistance to the franchise is completely understandable, no one but his co-stars can relate.
