Unfortunately, he’s not as good as the boy hoped.

These days Netflix ’s global chart is prominently dominated by Cobra Kai, a martial arts show that won over the hearts of millions of viewers worldwide by its spectacular mix of comedy, drama and perfectly-choreographed action.

One of the main mysteries of the show was the father of the show’s youngster Miguel (played by Xolo Maridueña). Johnny LaRusso’s teenage neighbor and apprentice at the Cobra Kai karate dojo came a long way to find out who fathered him.

How Does Miguel Meet His Father in the Show?

The first episode of 2022’s Season 5, titled Long, Long Way from Home, shows Miguel heading off to Mexico to find his biological father, and he does it quickly.

Despite all the insane fan theories regarding Miguel’s possible dad, he turns out to be a completely unfamiliar man who has never appeared on the show before. His name is Hector Salazar, and he seems to be unaware of the fact that he has a son with Carmen.

At first, Miguel is happy to see that his dad is a seemingly good person and is a loving husband and father to his new family. This impression severely contradicts Carmen’s description of Hector, as she called him quite a dangerous man.

However, in the second episode, Molé, we (as well as Miguel himself) see the true personality of Hector, convincingly portrayed by Luis Roberto Guzmán. To start with, we learn he has no regrets about leaving Carmen and his life in Ecuador.

Hector’s love for his new family also turns out to be fake, which is why Miguel never tells him he’s his son. But the real evil behind Hector is revealed when Johnny and Robby find out where Miguel is and arrive there to take him back.

The show doesn’t fully reveal who Hector really is, but there are some hints pointing at that he’s a drug kingpin. When Johnny and Robby show up wearing silly faux FBI T-shirts, Miguel’s father becomes extremely agitated.

He then threatens his biological son, asking if he’s with the FBI, and that becomes the last straw for Miguel, who leaves Mexico, realizing his so-called dad is a bad guy.

While we don’t know whether Hector Salazar will show up later in the series or not, the first part of Cobra Kai Season 6 is already available for streaming on Netflix.
