Aegon II has quite a bit of comedic moments, even if some of them are unintentional.

The world of Game of Thrones is a harsh and violent place with little to no comedic moments in the series, and the same goes for the House of Dragon prequel series.

Very rarely are viewers allowed to laugh or even snicker, with constant drama on screen and characters dying left and right.

But sometimes comedy finds its way into the series, even if in a possibly unintentional way.

Such seems to be the case with Aegon II Targaryen, son of King Viserys I and Alicent Hightower, who became King of the Seven Kingdoms at the end of season 1 and is Rhaenyra's main political rival.

Despite being a rather despicable character, many fans found him to be downright hilarious.

For example, when his brother throws him under the bus to protect Alicent in episode 7, his genuinely confused "Me?" made many fans chuckle as it was a perfect way to relieve the tension of the scene for a moment.

Or his giggle when Aemond tries to grab him in episode 9, which also unexpectedly made viewers laugh.

Of course, he is not a positive character in any way, but Tom Glynn-Carney's acting makes Aegon a different kind of "villain" in the show, a stark contrast to Joffrey Baratheon from the main series, who was very similar story-wise.

Both are the young kings who oppose our main characters, but while Joffrey is absolutely insufferable, Aegon can be almost sympathetic at times.

Sure, he is a drunk and an abuser, but he was just thrown into the middle of political intrigue against his will and this whole royal life has undoubtedly spoiled him.

Fans can't wait to see how the show's creators will develop his character in the upcoming season 2, but the release date hasn't been announced yet.
