Which Finale Was Better – 'Breaking Bad' or 'Better Call Saul'?
And other questions you just can't answer straight away.
Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'Better Call Saul ' finale
Throughout the course of 'Better Call Saul' runtime, fans were torn between their love for the original show, 'Breaking Bad ', and the spinoff, which was clearly at the same level and arguably even better.
Now that 'Better Call Saul' is officially over, fans have returned to the eternal debate. But this time, they are trying to make up their minds about whether 'Breaking Bad' or its prequel had the best finale in the history of television.
And that's a tough choice, everyone.
"Oh man did Better Call Saul deliver a finale worthy of the entire Breaking Bad universe. Who could've known the tale of Jimmy McGill would rival that of Walter White? Each man orchestrated exactly the ending he deserved. Here's to 14 years of greatness." – @jtomase
In 'Breaking Bad', things have gone wrong for Walter White, who succumbed to his wounds in Jack's meth lab while Jesse managed to escape – all of it after the two exchanged their final glances. Pretty impressive, huh?
However, 'Better Call Saul' delivered a heart-wrenching finale on Monday, having Saul Goodman suddenly going full Jimmy mode and confessing everything in court, effectively landing himself a prison sentence of eighty years instead of just seven he managed to negotiate earlier. The series is finalized with a beautiful loop, with Jimmy and Kim sharing a cigarette just like in the very beginning.
How are fans supposed to choose between those? Still, some people manage to do that.
No matter which side of the aisle you are on, it looks like the 'Breaking Bad' universe has undoubtedly added a decent and compelling part of the story to its already impressive portfolio. And who knows? Maybe it's not even the end.
