Where’s The Big Bang Theory’s Stuart Now?
Maybe stuck in another quirky friendship?
The Big Bang Theory is without doubt one of the most iconic ensemble cast series ever created. All the main characters of the nerd-centric comedy are relatable and at the same time quirky as hell. All the storylines explored in the series are either strange and really cringey, or sweet and meaningful. And that’s what makes it brilliant.
The main characters of the series are Howard, Leonard, Sheldon, Raj, and Penny. Later some of the new characters were added to the permanent cast and characters like Amy, Bernadette and Stuart appeared a lot more on the screen.
The most interesting thing though is about Stuart. The actor Kevin Sussman first auditioned for the role of Howard, but ended up being a looner named Stuart whose gig was to be miserable. However, in the episode called The Hofstadter Isotope he successfully hit on Penny and ended up dating her for a moment.
Well, there were a lot of things that made Stuart's character funny and lovable, and why the fans of the show wanted to keep him around longer than the creators originally intended.
“His development was very interesting. At the beginning he seemed successful with his comic book store. Even had Wil Wheaton as a friend. Heck, if Sheldon didn’t cockblock him, he would have slept with Penny (I don’t know why this is never mentioned in fandom places like this). Then things began to change for him. The arc with Mrs Wolowitz and then Howard and Bernadette, although funny, made him creepy. Glad he found a suitable partner in the end,” Redditor hokie3457 said.
What Has Kevin Sussman Been Up To Lately?
The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019, and Kevin Sussman had no acting credits in 2020 or 2021. However, he had three roles in 2022. He played a cancer scam victim in a two-episode arc on Better Call Saul. He also reunited with his Big Bang Theory co-star Mayim Bialik, appearing as Zac in two episodes of her new Call Me Kat.
The biggest role he landed this year was that of Mark Roessler in the Hulu miniseries The Dropout. It's based on the true story of Elizabeth Holmes, a young business owner who was eventually indicted on fraud charges when some of the claims made by her company, Theranos, were called into question.
Right about the same time, he also had a recurring role in the TV show Utopia and appeared in an episode of The Goldbergs.
The fans of the actor were happy to see him on screen again in the 2023 Lessons in Chemistry show with Brie Larson. He had a side role of a TV producer named Walter Pine and was pretty confident in the role.
That was the last we heard of Sussman's TV career, but we think there is more to come.
