Where Is Liv Tyler Now?
The Arwen actress seemingly stays out of the spotlight. Or does she?
The Lord of the Rings ’ fans can’t imagine that their favorite Arwen could ever be portrayed by anyone other than Liv Tyler, who can be considered a worldwide star for her once-in-a-lifetime performance in the epic saga. But where is she now?
If we were to ask you to name at least one movie project of the last decade starring the LOTR’s elf, you will probably be unable to do it. It may come as a surprise, but there are still some recent must-watches with the actress that you may have completely overlooked.
What Has Liv Tyler Been Up to in Recent Years?
You may have missed that Tyler starred in a hyped supernatural show alongside Justin Theroux. Yes, she was a regular on HBO’s The Leftovers (2014 - 2017), set in a world where 2% of the world's population mysteriously disappears.
As for other worth-watching TV projects with Tyler, you can give 2017’s Gunpowder miniseries a try (it also stars Game of Thrones ’ Kit Harington) or binge Hulu ’s period drama Harlots (2017 - 2019).

We can’t obviously ignore 2019’s sci-fi drama Ad Astra that was received positively by both critics and viewers and was hoped to serve as a successful movie that could bring Tyler back to the big screen.
Starring Brad Pitt, this gem tells the story of an astronaut who ventures into space in search of his lost father, with Tyler playing the protagonist’s restless wife.
Will We Ever See Tyler in Mainstream Cinema Again?
Even though it’s been 5 years since the actress starred in a big movie project, in 2025 we’re looking forward to seeing her roaring return. It’s too early to say goodbye to The Lord of the Rings’ star, as she’s almost ready to surprise us with her epic performance one more time.
