Donning suits isn’t the only thing he’s good at.

After a new wave of popularity that Suits unexpectedly faced after the show started streaming on Netflix, a whole new level of obsession started in the social media. Fans were discussing every character and every plot twist that ever happened in the series.

For those who have never seen the show, Suits is a legal drama that features an extremely handsome and successful lawyer Harvey Specter, played by Gabriel Macht, and another genius lawyer Mike Ross, portrayed by Patrick J. Adams.

The story of the show pretty much revolves around them trying to deal with the legal problems that come their way. Oh, and one more thing: no one is supposed to know that Mike is a working lawyer despite never having passed the bar.

Playing Mike in Suits was a big step forward for Adams' career. Although he has been working in the industry since 2003, he only became a recognized actor after Suits was released in 2011. But that's a statement that applies to pretty much every main character on the show.

Adams was a permanent character on Suits until its eighth season, and in the ninth and final chapter, he only appeared a handful of times. The decision to leave the show was made by him to take some rest from acting. But that didn’t work out quite as he planned.

After Suits wrapped up in 2019, he was cast in the sci-fi drama Clara, where he played the role of Dr. Isaac Bruno, one of the main characters. Later that year, he appeared in the all-star web series America 2.0. At the same time, he had a recurring role in Amazon's streaming crime drama Sneaky Pete.

While these roles weren't as big as his Suits role, they still brought him recognition. But the year 2020 landed him a key role in the Disney+ adaptation of The Right Stuff. Adams was cast as legendary astronaut John Glenn.

The miniseries was based on Tom Wolfe's famous non-fiction book of the same name. The character Adams portrayed was a perfect fit for the actor. Once again, he had the opportunity to play the cocky genius, but with an introverted twist.

In 2022 Adams landed a role in the series called A League of Their Own. He wasn’t the main character there, but his Charlie Shaw, the husband of baseball player Carson Shaw, was received very well by the audience.

Most recently, Adams starred in the CBC sci-fi thriller Plan B. The six-episode series follows a manipulative man who, in a desperate attempt to right the course of his failing marriage, tries to use time travel to change past events, with things inevitably going horribly wrong.
