You may have seen him in some major shows of the recent years without realizing it.

Grantham Coleman is currently getting more attention ahead of the premiere of his new thriller show, The Emperor of Ocean Park, but you surely saw him in other successful series back in the day.

Though the actor mostly popped up in minor roles that didn’t go further than just one episode, his list of credits is already long enough for someone who got it all started only several years ago, and his filmography now has a good chance to be checked out more frequently by those who are currently nostalgic for some old popular series.

Having kicked his career off with theatrical performances, Coleman moved on to cinema and television, with the latter giving him more prominence in the very start of the path.

After showing up in cameo roles in shows like The Americans, The Night Shift, and Murder in the First, the actor got to a new level landing a role of Richard Doogan in one of NCIS ’ episodes — ironically, he continued to stay close to the NCIS franchise by securing another character for himself in NCIS: Los Angeles back in 2017.

Apart from that, Coleman’s appearance is also featured in a TV adaptation of Stephen King ’s sci-fi novel 11.22.63. He later on proceeded to much bigger roles in the 2023 crime drama show Power Book III: Raising Kanan and a Western miniseries Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

Coleman’s latest TV credit is his brand new show The Emperor of Ocean Park.

The actor’s career in cinema started several years later with a role in the 2019 political thriller movie Seberg, where he starred alongside Kristen Stewart. He then appeared in the 2020 black comedy Black Bear, Alejandro Iñárritu’s 2022 epic drama Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, and the 2023 biopic Rustin.

Despite a growing career in movies, Coleman is still way more recognizable for his roles on TV.
