What Movies and Shows Did Emma Laird Appear in?
The actress is about to get a higher level of recognition with her next movie heading for the Venice Film Festival.
You may have heard little about her so far, but it’s temporary.
Emma Laird, an English actress who has risen to prominence over the past few years, is soon to become one of the front faces at the Venice Film Festival with a new drama film, The Brutalist.
Laird’s career doesn’t count that much of notable works yet since she kicked her acting path off back in 2018 after leaving a modeling career behind. However, you still may have seen her in minor roles on TV and in cinema — and it might be a good reason to rewatch those flicks.
Emma Laird Films and Shows
Starting with the movie industry, Laird’s filmography holds 5 credits so far, with two of them heading for theaters sometime in the future. Back in 2018 and 2019, she starred in her first short films, From Life and In Conversation With a Goddess, but her chances of becoming a widely recognisable actress only grew a couple of years later.
In 2023, Laird landed a minor role in Kenneth Branagh’s mystery movie A Haunting in Venice, portraying Desdemona Holland, an assistant to a psychic medium that makes an attempt to figure out what happened in a haunted Italian palazzo.
Laird’s next credits that haven’t been released theatrically yet include Brady Corbet’s highly anticipated drama The Brutalist which will premiere in Venice this fall, and a period comedy movie Fackham Hall that doesn’t have any potential release date yet.
While getting much bigger perspectives in the film industry now, Emma Laird should probably thank her TV role that kicked her acting career off.
Since 2021, the actress has been one of the leads in a crime thriller show Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner, who takes over his older brother’s position as (obviously) Kingstown’s mayor after the latter’s death.
Apart from that, Laird also appeared in a minor role in the Tom Holland-led psychological thriller series A Crowded Room, which premiered on Apple TV+ last year.
