What If Young Sheldon's George Cooper Has Cheated Already?

Over the years, Young Sheldon has become just as popular, if not more so, than the original The Big Bang Theory. There are many theories and opinions as to why this has happened, but the majority of viewers agree that the show about a family living in Texas in the 90s simply appeals to a wider audience.

Some fans of The Big Bang Theory also joined young Sheldon's adventures, as the show was launched and promoted to the main audience while The Big Bang Theory was still on the air. However, this decision may have backfired on the creators, as viewers who know the lore began to see too many differences between the two stories.

The good news is that with one season left, young Sheldon can still give everyone a solid explanation for why the two versions of Sheldon Cooper's past just don't add up.

Did George Cooper Cheat On Mary?

There are many little things that bother original fans of Sheldon in Young Sheldon, but two of the biggest things have to do with George Cooper, his father.

First of all, The Big Bang Theory explained that Sheldon's signature three-knock system was a direct result of him entering his father's room when he was cheating. Second, we know that his father died, so viewers have been waiting for the tragedy from the beginning.

While the death can still happen, or it can happen between two shows, off-screen, which would be much more appropriate for the sitcom, the cheating explanation is harder. Especially since Sheldon already knocked three times in Young Sheldon.

He could have lied about his reasons in The Big Bang Theory, of course, or... George could have been cheating on Mary even before the show started.

If that somehow comes out in season 7 and becomes the reason for another scandal between George and Mary, the show will probably end on a very bittersweet note. But it's hard not to call Cooper's story bittersweet as it is, so it's a pretty smart move to clear up the questions that fans won't let go of.
