What Can Be Worse Than How I Met Your Father S1? Only… Season 2

How I Met Your Mother fans gasped with excitement when they saw that a spinoff of their favorite show was in the works. Then the first season of How I Met Your Father aired. And just like that, the feeling was gone…
Well, to be fair, it wasn't that bad. Critics claimed that the show actually had potential. Although it was often said that it would be much worse without the universe of the parent show and the parallel storylines of former characters that were sometimes used in the new show.
Needless to say the fans are also not that into it.
“The magic is just not there, the characters seem off, they don't feel like real people and their relationships are not at all believable. The dialogue feels kinda cringy and forced and not at all how normal people talk. And the comedy, well I have watched every available episode and I remember smiling once,” Redditor adorkablegiant said.
Still, despite all this, the audience generally thought that the finale of season 1 was not that bad, and even worth waiting for season 2.
Unfortunately, as season 2 got rolling, the show lost some of the charm that the showrunners had built up at the end of season 1. With Barney and Robin brought into the show, it gave fans some kind of hope that season 2 would continue the story.
However, that never happened. Instead, the writers of the show just kept on going with different storylines that didn't really develop at all.
The main storyline, Sophie finding love so that Kim Cattrall (older Sophie) could finally tell her son how she actually met his father, was simply dropped.
Well, with all those things considered, fans feel strongly that there is no way there would ever be season 3 of this show. And who knows, maybe we’re better off without it.
