What Are The Chances Of Squid Game 2 Bringing Back HoYeon Jung?
“Squid Game” has become a surprise Netflix hit for many. The chilling South Korean drama about where money hunger can take us ended up inspiring TikToks, triggering love for Asian sugar candies and making a lot of people fall in love with HoYeon Jung and her character. It appears that Season 2 is just a question of time.
Creator of Squid Game Hwang Dong-hyuk teased the possibility of actress HoYeon Jung, the fans’ favorite, returning to the games… but not necessarily as her character Kang Sae-byeok.
Dong-hyuk revealed to Deadline that he has not even started writing Season 2 script yet. Still, it seems that he has thought about bringing HoYeon Jung back… but with a twist.
“Let’s say maybe she has a twin sister, you’ll see,” he hinted.
Well, everything is possible, given that the script is yet to be started, but the fans have already shared their thoughts on this take. And it seems that not everyone is fond of the idea. Red light, Dong-hyuk!
Some people remembered that, according to the show, Kang Sae-byeok had a brother, but there was nothing about a twin sister.
If her character indeed had a twin sister, then this would raise a lot of questions… in fact, it already did.
One fan said that there is a much easier way to explain the return of HoYeon Jung.
Even the hardcore fans of the actress and model (and the character) noted that bringing her back might be too much, and things should stay as they are for Season 2.
The hint from Dong-hyuk might be a way to lay the land before starting to work on Season 2. Whatever his final decision will be, the Squid Game sequel will most definitely draw eyes to the screens once again, since the first season became the most-watched Netflix content ever after its release in September.
