Yellowstone's future appears to be in peril, though there is little definite information about the unfolding crisis.

In case you missed earlier news (like), there are strong indications of a conflict between Kevin Costner and Paramount, related to Costner's scheduling issues, which might impact production of Yellowstone 's current season – and possibly result in the show ending with it.

Kevin Costner and his representatives have not addressed the problem, while Paramount Network offered this response:

"We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that's the case for a long time to come."

The dark rumors, however, persist. Most of the actors on Yellowstone remain silent about them. However, Wes Bentley (who plays Jamie Dutton), recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the show's future.

While he had little in the way of solid facts to offer, his interview confirmed that there indeed are some issues behind the scenes, even if he does not believe that these issues as critical as they might seem.

He said that "The news that's come out recently about the show is, you know, it's above my pay grade. Different people making decisions."

Then he added:

"I know that they're still working on… working things out with everyone, to make sure we shoot. And I'm confident we will. We always have before. I think it's probably a bit of drama over nothing."

Wes, personally, is more concerned about the expected showdown between his character and Jamie's sister, Beth – their relationship had been increasingly sour for seasons, and now is sliding towards an open confrontation.

He does not have any more information about the plot of upcoming episodes than we do – or does not want to reveal spoilers – but in any case, he's predicting:

"I just know this is an inflection point… Something major will come of this moment between Jamie and Beth. This is kind of the final straw."

We can only hope that we are not going to miss this promised "Greek tragedy" due to the internal conflict with Costner. Although, as we've mentioned before, even if Costner indeed leaves the show, theoretically he can be replaced (see).
