And now Reddit has decided to pick the protagonist who has suffered the most from the events of the Stan Lee universe.

Many fans feel that Nebula has been down on her luck. She was first introduced as a villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, but as the films progressed, her tragic backstory was revealed to viewers.

Once one of Thanos' daughters, she is trying to atone for past sins and find a path to redemption while battling her inner demons.

Another protagonist who suffered at the hands of the writers was Rocket Raccoon. His origin was a mystery until James Gunn 's latest film, where the director finally uncovered the full story of one of the MCU 's most popular characters.

As a child, Rocket was held hostage by the maniacal High Evolutionary, who dreamed of creating a perfect society by experimenting on various creatures. Throughout his journey, Rocket lost all of his friends, but eventually made new ones.

Fans also noticed Thor, who suffered the loss of his brother, his father, his beloved girlfriend, and even his kingdom of Asgard. But it was Bucky Barnes who was hit the hardest, according to the viewers.

Bucky has always been best friends with Steve Rogers (aka Captain America ). But during one of their missions, Bucky went missing and was presumed dead, only to reappear years later as the Winter Soldier, working for the Nazi organization HYDRA.

Bucky has been transformed from a good guy into a formidable killer, unaware of his actions because he has been brainwashed by the villains. Not wanting to leave his friend, Steve tries to bring the Winter Soldier to his senses.

Although the character manages to become himself again, he is blamed for the terrorist attack. Bucky becomes one of the main reasons that divides the Avengers into two camps and leads to the beginning of the Civil War between the superheroes.

While Rocket, Nebula, or Thor can overcome their past, Bucky's fate remains unclear.
