We Sorted HotD Characters into Hogwarts Houses, and It Got Weird
We have known for years that Daenerys is an obvious Slytherin and Jon Snow is a textbook Gryffindor, but what about the new House of the Dragon characters?
Be right back, getting our Sorting Hat to sort it all out!
Alicent Hightower
Just like with Draco Malfoy, the Sorting Hat would only need to touch the top of Alicent's head to know that she is a true Slytherin.
The girl is ambitious and does not shy away from sneaky decisions when the need arises.
Though this redhead could get into Gryffindor solely on her hair color privilege.
Rhaenyra Targaryen
This one is a tricky case. She shares many traits with Harry Potter that are valued by different Hogwarts Houses.
One could argue that she is a brave Gryffindor or a clever Ravenclaw, but we think that her true House is Slytherin too.
Her villain origin story has made sure of it!
Aegon Targaryen
King Aegon II is a Gryffindor, but in a bad way, like Peter Pettigrew.
Bear with us: the guy is clearly not a Slytherin since he has practically zero ambitions when it comes to ruling the realm (even though it will eventually change).
He is no Hufflepuff (not with his attitude), and his spot in Ravenclaw is already taken by his clearly more educated brother. So... a Gryffindor gone horribly wrong.
Aemond Targaryen
Like we said — a Ravenclaw, because he himself admitted to studying way too hard for someone with such a little chance to sit the Iron Throne.
However, our Sorting Hat clearly had a hard time choosing between Ravenclaw and Slytherin...
Criston Cole
Though he does have the qualities to wear a golden-red uniform, Criston is actually more of a Hufflepuff. While he is brave and noble, he is also primarily motivated by duty and loyalty.
He is no stranger to hard work either!
Daeron Targaryen
Though he hasn't made his entrance in the show yet, we guess there is no real need to explain which House Daeron the Daring belongs to, is there?
The title totally gives it away – this character is another true Gryffindor. Does it run in the family?
Helaena Targaryen
Or maybe not. Helaena gives off Luna Lovegood vibes and is a Ravenclaw through and through.
Curious and eager to learn, she is a wise advisor – even King Aegon II listens to her.
Viserys Targaryen
OK, so the Targaryen family already has two Gryffindors, a Ravenclaw, and a Slytherin. It seems fitting that a Hufflepuff has to be in there somewhere.
Viserys is devoted, peaceful, and generous – Helga would be happy to have him in her House.
Anyway, these are our House picks for the House of the Dragon characters. Some may be surprising, but if you really think about it, they make perfect sense!
