Grown-up fans revisit the Harry Potter series, and it makes them question some of the storylines and behavior of adults.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was published in 1997, and the first installment of the movie franchise was released not long after, in 2001.

This fact makes long-time fans, who grew up along with Harry Potter and his friends, adult and mature.

Being grown-ups doesn't stop Harry Potter fans from rereading beloved books and rewatching Wizarding World movies from time to time. For some, it has even become an annual Christmas tradition.

"Dumbledore is Ron From the Future" is the Wildest Theory Harry Potter Fandom Ever Produced

While revisiting their favorite story for the umpteenth time, fans can't help but look at it from a different, adult point of view. What seemed totally natural for a child might be a bit confusing for an adult. Some of the fans even turned to a Harry Potter subreddit to discuss these revelations.

The majority of Redditors who joined the discussion noted that the most confusing thing for them was the behavior of adults in the series. Many remembered Dumbledore doing some very controversial stuff like hiring Gilderoy Lockhart and hiding vital information from Harry. The most popular comment describes another immature adult, though.

"Hagrid should have been an adult and taken the damn dragon to the top of the tower. And then he doesn't even have the dignity to apologize to them in the forest for being the reason they were out of bed," the author of the comment wrote.

The Redditor is talking about the scene in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone where Hagrid came into possession of a dragon egg and hatched himself a Norwegian Ridgeback which was illegal. When the dragon called Norbert got older, he became too dangerous to keep, and Hagrid had to agree to give the dragon to Ron's older brother, Charlie Weasley.

Unpopular Opinion: Harry Potter is More Overrated Than a Kardashian

It was Harry and Hermione who took Norbert to the Astronomy Tower after dark to pass him to Charlie. The author has a point in his comment. What adult would let kids take care of their mess? Commenters noted that this action was not out-of-character for Hagrid who, in a way, never grew up.

"Hagrid was very immature at times. He didn't want to lose Norbert, so I guess he couldn't bring himself to do it," one of the commenters explained.
