Even true TBBT buffs might have missed these details about Sheldon's parents.

Young Sheldon 's season 6 is over, and fans have nothing else to do but to rewatch the spinoff and the original show once again. Attentive fans shared a couple of cool details about Sheldon's parents and the actors who portrayed them.

If you are a TBBT fan, you should know that we've never seen Sheldon's father on the show, as he had already died by the start of the events of the series.

It's, by the way, one thing fans are sadly anticipating to see in the next season of Young Sheldon. However, you might have missed one episode where the actor who portrayed George Cooper made an appearance.

Long before the development of Young Sheldon began, TBBT's 11th episode of season 5 aired on December 8, 2011.

In this episode Lance Barber appeared in the role of Jimmy Speckerman, a former Leonard's classmate who bullied him in high school. And please, don't even think of making up theories about his reincarnation.

In this episode Jimmy sends a message to Leonard about having a meeting with him. Initially, Leonard Hesitates but eventually decides to go. Jimmy shows up and behaves like an old friend of Leonard.

The tricky part is that he came up with an idea of glasses that turn movies into 3D, and Leonard was the smartest guy he knew to go to. Even though feeling enthusiastic, Leonard says this invention is impossible to create.

Okay, now when we figured out how Lance Barber made an appearance in TBBT (even though not as George), let's talk about Mary Cooper.

Throughout all twelve seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Mary Cooper was portrayed by an Emmy award-winning actress Laurie Metcalf.

When the production of Young Sheldon began, it is obvious that they couldn't cast Metcalf again for the role, as she was already 60 years old at the time.

Instead, Zoe Perry assumed the role of the younger Mary Cooper.

Here's the interesting fact. While one can say that Zoe Perry doesn't look really similar to Laurie Metcalf, she is actually Metcalf's daughter.

Now this is probably the most meta thing The Big Bang Theory universe could ever have!
