The actress experienced great difficulties on the set, but remained grateful for the project, which became a springboard to the main project of her career.

In 1994, the first series of Friends aired and this project that was destined to become a cult. None of the actors who signed on for the series could have imagined the success that lay ahead.

As the show's popularity grew, popular actors and actresses began appearing as friends, lovers, or even random encounters of the protagonists.

One of the guest stars was Debra Jo Rupp, who at the time was known for roles in projects such as Seinfield and Family Matters. Debra played Alice Knight, first the girlfriend and then the wife of Phoebe's cousin Frank.

Everything would be fine if it were not for ... a huge age difference between the characters in love.

The actress did not feel the looseness of her character and admitted that the age difference made her ‘horrified':

“I was horrified. I was absolutely horrified. Every time we got a rewrite in the script, there would be more making out! I would just go, 'Oh my god. Oh my god! I just gotta close my eyes and do it. What else am I gonna do?”

However, although the shooting was difficult for the actress, she had a reliable partner who played the role of Frank – Giovanni Ribisi.

According to Debra, he supported her and thanks to him she was able to cope with the role, which today would probably raise many questions:

“We'd get on set and rehearse and I just looked at him like, 'I don't know...' and Giovanni went, 'Well, we're just gonna go for it.' Boom, and he's on me!”

The actress also admitted that despite the difficulties, she was grateful to the creators of Friends for inviting her to join the show.

Her career was not in the best place at the time, but after appearing on Friends, Debra was called to three different series, one of which was That ‘70s Show, which became her most important role in career.

The actress' latest works include super popular MCU projects – WandaVision, where she played Mrs. Hart and upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos, where she'll reprise this role.
