Walker Season 4 Big Change Is Something No One Asked For

Even though fans of The CW's version of Walker still have to defend their favorite show against those who prefer Chuck Norris' original portrayal and remain very vocal about it, the show about the legendary Texas Ranger is still considered a success. The upcoming season 4 promises to solidify that status and bring the action back.

Even better, it's not just the title character who's getting a solid storyline this time around.

Walker Season 4 First Look

If you were hooked by the season 3 finale and the chilling tale of the serial killer Jackal, who got into the Rangers' heads so much that Captain James' marriage ended in shambles, season 4 comes with some great news. Jackal will be back, as murderous as ever, and this call from the past will put a strain on the team.

Speaking to TVLine about what to expect from the upcoming season, showrunner Anna Fricke emphasized the importance of James' character in the arc:

“It causes a lot of tension for Captain James. <...> That’s really a major thing that we’re teeing up. That’s what we’re really digging into, because we really like to do cases that are personal to our characters and we really wanted to have kind of a Captain James season and get into that and see a side of him we hadn’t before.” she said.

While that would be nice to see Captain James get his own strong arc, that was not on top of the viewers’ wishlist for season 4 when it arrives. Half of the fandom is longing for Cordell and Geri’s long-awaited romance to finally come in full blossom, and the other half just wants to see some badass action scenes that season 3 wasn’t that filled with.

Either way, even the mere fact that the show is back with season 4 is exciting already, considering how many shows haven’t survived the rebranding. Hopefully, the story of the legendary Texas Ranger will continue to live on, and Walker himself won’t be pushed to the side in his own show.
