- It premiered in 2009 and ran for 8 seasons, ending in 2017. One of the main characters, Elena Gilbert, was written off two seasons earlier due to the departure of the actress.
- Now, for the first time since her departure, Nina Dobrev is about to visit a major fan convention, as well as hinting at revival news on social media.
If Nina Dobrev's upcoming appearance at Epic's I Was Feeling Festive convention wasn't reason enough to revisit your past Vampire Diaries obsession, then the following news might just do the trick. It seems the stars of The CW's fan-favorite vampire drama have something very exciting up their sleeves.
Many faces fans know and love for their performances on both The Vampire Diaries and its popular spin-off, The Originals, recently appeared on Nina Dobrev's TikTok. As the TikTok goes viral, the show's die-hard fans are beginning to wonder what it could possibly mean.
Will The Vampire Diaries Come Back?
Out of all the cast members, Nina Dobrev was not the one who was expected to make any kind of announcement or tease any kind of upcoming news. Though her character Elena Gilbert was at the center of the drama, it was made very clear that the actress didn't want to be stuck in the role of a teenager forever when she left the show in 2015.
Her appearance at the fan convention for the first time in 8 years was remarkable enough on its own. Add in a video like this, and it was bound to take the internet by storm, leaving fans deeply confused, but excited nonetheless.
Of all the people in the video, only Wesley, King, Ewell, and Trevino are confirmed to be at the event. If this video was meant to announce some surprise celebrity additions to the panel, then we will see them all at this Friday's event. However, if this was a hint at an upcoming revival, fans aren't sure how to react.
To make everyone happy, the video was missing some audience favorites like Ian Somerhalder, Joseph Morgan, and Phoebe Tonkin, and the commenters were sure to point that out. Their questions, however, went unanswered.
Whether people would be willing to watch The Vampire Diaries 2.0 with only one Salvatore brother present is questionable, but at this point, any kind of additional content to the show that ended more than 6 years ago is more than welcome.
If you want to celebrate the sudden reunion by giving The Vampire Diaries a rewatch, you can stream the show on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, or Max.
