Vampire Diaries Fans Agree: This Is The Show's Worst Character
This character is so annoying that it is simply impossible to watch any episode with her. Yes, after all this time.
Over the 8 seasons of The Vampire Diaries there were a huge number of characters.
Some of them won the hearts of the viewers, and some of them made them so angry that they wanted to cut all the scenes that featured them.
Most fans agree that Sybil is at the top of the list of the most annoying characters in the series.
Sybil was the main antagonist of season 8. After being freed from the Armory and thanks to clues left by Enzo, Bonnie was able to discover that Sybil was actually a Siren who corrupted and enslaved those who got in her way.
The Siren feeds on the darkness in people's souls, as well as human flesh to maintain beauty and youth.
Sybil explained that she was instructed to collect evil souls, so she subjugated Damon and Enzo to her will to serve her in the capture of sinners.
Many fans agree that such a fantastic creature as a Siren could be revealed in a very interesting way, adding a new color to a series that by season 8 was no longer as exciting as it once was. Instead, Sybil just annoyed the audience with her actions.
"I'm rewatching and currently on season 8 [right now] and I literally googled "when does Sybil stop mind controlling Enzo and Damon" skipped two episodes, only for her to still be just as awful," Reddit user destchap commented.
Despite the fact that the actress who plays Sybil, Nathalie Kelley, is so beautiful that it is difficult to take your eyes off the screen when watching her, this was not enough to win the favor of the viewers.
Many are not satisfied with her acting and especially with her American accent. Nathalie is Australian and she had to fake the accent.
"I knew where Sybil was from as soon as she spoke […] her accent stuck out to me immediately. She isn't doing it because her character is ancient. She's doing it because she can't act," Reddit user Agreeable_Fruit7563 shared.
Fans wanted the main antagonist of the final season of the beloved show to be memorable and well-written.
However, many felt that Sybil became just another faceless villain with no clear motivation or goal.
