Vampire Academy Changed Lissa From the Books Entirely, But Was It a Good Thing?

Peacock 's adaptation of Vampire Academy appears to have changed a lot in the source material, and fans and critics seem to be divided on whether it was a good decision.
One book character that saw drastic changes in the show was Lissa. In the books, she is not much of a central figure, with the story mainly following Rose as the main character. However, the TV show made her one of the central figures in the story, placing Lissa alongside Rose to help her do the things that Rose would complete alone in the books.
Many critics praised the changes made in the show, with Collider noting that the TV version of Lissa makes the friendship with Rose even more special. However, fans beg to differ.
According to Reddit Vampire Academy fandom, the show has undermined Lissa's character.
"Aside from the name it's hardly even the same character. In the books she's seems so proper and classy. Maybe a little uptight lol. In the show she just seems like a regular kinda trashy teenager," Redditor nananana54321 argued.
Vampire Academy premiered on Peacock on September 15, with the tenth and final episode becoming available for streaming on October 27. It's unclear whether the series would be greenlit for more seasons.
