Although it hurts, fans still couldn't help but watch every new episode of the show.

And Just Like That is a sequel series of the iconic show Sex and the City. But ever since it was first announced, it almost seemed like nobody loved the idea.

Frankly, it's no wonder why. The real fans of the original show didn't even like the two full-length movies that followed. And now they were forced to deal with the idea of their once beloved characters appearing on the screen after almost 20 years.

In any other time, this news would be considered great, but something just felt wrong about Sex and the City having a sequel. However, after the first season of And Just Like That was released, it turned out that the show was quite popular with the audience.

And as it turns out, there are several reasons for this.

As Redditors claim, the first thing that makes them watch the show, even if they don't like it, is actually how bad it is. Fans watch the show only to later discuss it on the Internet and share their thoughts about why they hate it.

“I honestly enjoy the online discourse more than the show at this point. I just watched S2e1, and I don’t know if I even hate watching this anymore. But I LOVE reading everyone else’s thoughts…I love the frustrated haterade, I love the fan fiction brainstorming of better ideas, I even love the ones who are enjoying or holding out hope,” Redditor KOMpushy said.

A lot of fans really mentioned the online discourse as the best thing we got out of the show. But there is something else.

Another thing that kept fans watching the awful show is... hope. Fans of the OG series just keep watching and waiting for the sequel to get better. As some fans say, they are not “hate-watching” And Just Like That, but rather “hope-watching” it.

Well, who knows, maybe all the waiting will not be in vain. Let's hope too!
