Unexpected Character Ties TBBT, Two And A Half Men, Young Sheldon, And Many More Series Together
This may be the craziest plot twist in TV history.
It's not uncommon for TV shows to form a universe and cross over. Sometimes this happens because they all come from the same franchise and are under the direction of the same showrunner.
Other times, the characters are connected by their origin stories, as was the case with the DC shows on the CW that formed the Arrowverse.
Either way, fans seem to appreciate such connections, as they add depth to the world and stories in which their favorite characters exist.
Even in the more realistic shows where there isn't much lore to explore, knowing how easily one storyline can be connected to another makes the experience much more interesting.
Not many people know that this is also true for sitcoms. Not as much as procedurals or fantasy shows, but there is still a way to tie them all together with a fun Easter egg.
Chuck Lorre did it perfectly by having a recurring character in almost every single one of his shows.
The Big Bang Theory, Two And A Half Men, Young Sheldon, and many other shows all have this person in different positions, but in one setting: the hospital.
The actress who portrays everyone from the doctor to the nurse is named Vernee Watson.
Besides being one of the most iconic characters in Chuck Lorre's universe, she's known for portraying Stella on General Hospital, as well as the mother of Will Smith 's character on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
There is no particular significance to her characters in the above sitcoms, other than being a fun Easter egg for eagle-eyed fans to enjoy.
However, this is enough to make Watson very popular with the fanbase. Just as Lorre himself enjoys working with the same people, viewers enjoy seeing them again and again in different shows.
Hopefully, we're up to seeing more of Verne Watson in Young Sheldon and other sitcoms which are yet to come.
Tune in to CBS on Thursday, May 18 at 8 pm to not miss a two-part season 6 Young Sheldon finale.
